♟️ Chess Draw Rules – When the Game Ends Without a Winner:
Here are the official draw conditions in chess:
Stalemate
Occurs when a player has no legal moves and is not in check.
Example: King is not in check but cannot move anywhere without going into check.
Threefold Repetition
If the same position on the board occurs three times, with the same player to move each time, either player can claim a draw.
This includes identical piece positions, castling rights, en passant availability, and turn order.
Fifty-Move Rule
If 50 consecutive moves occur without a pawn move or a capture, either player may claim a draw.
Insufficient Material (Lack of Figures)
A draw is declared when neither player has enough material to checkmate the opponent.
Examples:
King vs. King
King + Bishop vs. King
King + Knight vs. King
